Every treatment has its SE's.
Active Surveillance has no SE's, and I understand it is not a "treatment" per se but it is an option. I am very happy I went that route and it's been over a year now. My UR tried to rush me into surgery as well. If I had taken his advice I could be sitting here right now wearing a pad and unable to make love to my wife.
You have plenty of time to make a decision and you should learn about
, and give serious consideration to all options. But you absolutely must get a second opinion on your biopsy before you decide anything. If the second opinion says the cancer is actually G7, I would absolutely seek treatment. If it's confirmed a G6, AS is an option, even at your age. Look at my stats, I was a confirmed G6 and since my biopsy, my PSA levels have dropped to <1 from a pre-biopsy level of almost 3.
