Susan,so sorry, but I know he's no longer in pain and fatigued. My husband was put on hospice this past Friday and I feel your pain. I watch as he deteriorates daily, he's just a hollow frame of the man he once was. That is the part that is so hurtful, watching and waiting. I can't remember all of the particulars about
how long you two have been together, my husband and I have known each other over 52 years and married for 51 of those years, so there is a lot of history there. I am so glad that Bob was able to talk with you and express his emotions of appreciation and love to you, that helps "closure" so much, oh it doesn't take the hurt, pain, or lose, but it gives you some comfort, I know it would me. I am so glad that yo are able to fill your time with work, I am sure that will help you through some of those "lonely" times.......I'm sorry but I seem to be at a lose for more words of condolence, but I don't ever think there are enough words that will ever fill up "that hole in your heart"....
I would like to communicate with you on a more personal bases if you agree, please feel free to contact me via my e-mail address.
Peace to you, I know Bob is at peace now!

Dear Susan,
I am so very sorry, Susan. I'm just beginning this journey with my husband, but you are already a role model for me of being a loving and supportive partner.
Sending you thoughts of peace and gentle healing,
Mary

To echo an earlier comment, He "fought the good fight, he finished the course." And, those who came before us, each of us shows the way to keep fighting. I always consider that if we keep fighting it, the disease never wins. We might lose, but we are not defeated.
Thanks for sharing Bob with us.

Hi Susan,
My sympathies for your loss. I still visit here but don't or can't have anything of value to say usually but to you if you need someone who is walking this path, I am here. You can email me - I have learned a lot but most of all you are beginning a journey that is yours alone.

Susan,
You're news just tears at my heart. Been thinking about
you all day and hoping you can find some healing in writing about
your experience. I hope you share your story with us when it's complete. I get so much support visiting caregivers corner, and would love to read what you have written from your experience. My email is in my profile.

Susan, I can't say anything that hasn't already been said above. It saddens me to hear Bob has passed. I hope you take some time for yourself right now, as its not easy being the one left behind either.
Know my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I hope you are finding some peace as well. I pray I have half as much courage as you do!

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I am at peace with the fact that he is out of pain. The last two weeks have been very rough. I knew by last Friday that he was slipping away. This is about
all I can say right now
Thank You,
Susan (radsgrrl22)

Remain strong... as He passed on... to you…. and in a way that will strengthen you in ways you will never understand but will surely always…always know. I grieve with and for you. Your bond will never be stronger…Believe This...

Thank you so much for your kind words. Mostly just putting one foot in front of the other.
I found this poem that Bob wrote to me a while back.
In my dreams, you share my hammock.
Under a dark and tropical sky.
To see the moonlight in your eyes, the stars in your silken hair.
The gentle breezes give us rhythm, as we wear each other's skin.

I know one when I see one, Susan,... that is a beautiful poem... framed by his eternal love for you. The beauty of it is... that you realize that...
