Hi everyone I'm in New York. It is my first time in the big apple and I must admit, I feel like a fish out of water. I see why they call it the concrete jungle. I am literally directly across the river from freedom Tower. I hope you guys all have fun at the gathering this weekend. I wish I could be there. I feel what I'm doing is important. Hopefully it will help me to be another blogger and a better online advocate. I miss all you guys. If there's any healing well people in New York that might wish to meet for dinner. Maybe we can work something out. Todd

Listen, if you are across the river from the Freedom Tower, it's not the big apple. It's just New Jersey LOL

That's great news, Todd. We need more advocates and great bloggers (tho we at HW believe you already are both)!

NYC - That's where my Irish great grandparents immigrated to via Ellis Island! My grandparents, mom and my brothers were born and raised there. Hope the city treats you well.

Todd: let me clue you in on the cheapest date in Manhattan:

about an hour before sunset, take the subway to the South Street Ferry. Get on the Staten Island Ferry, ride over to staten island and then turn around and ride back. It's free. make sure you get a seat on the front deck.

And, don't forget to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (especially going from Brooklyn to Mahnhattan)!

My favorite city, I love NY. If you want to take a nice walk in the city, walk the High Line. It's on the west side and it goes from Chelsea to Midtown. Just 1.75 miles but some great views of the city.

I'm a big fan of walks in Central park as well. Things should be coming alive in the park just about this time of year.

You should do Ground Zero and the 9/11 Museum. Very emotional experience for sure.

Another thing that's kind of fun is Katz's Deli. It's famous for the scene in When Harry Met Sally where Meg Ryan fakes the orgasm if you know what I mean. There's a sign over the table where the scene takes place. It's over on the southern end of the East Village.

So many cool things to see and do there. Have fun!

There's also Stage Deli and Carnegie Deli.

You can get a Circle Line Tours Pass for a few days. We did and used it for transportation. It was great! Unlimited on/off.

Beware: katz' deli is cash only...or it was a few years ago. On the other hand, you CAN have what Meg Ryan had there ;)

I remember the sandwiches were absolutely HUGE (Carnegie and Stage) and they actually charged you for sharing (splitting a sandwich).

Somehow, that reminds me of my insurance company in some sort of way!

My favorite city also. We will be going there in June for 9 days then to Narragansett R.I. for 2 weeks. I was raised there. I fear a heatwave in NewYork, but then again like Nawlin's, if it ain't hot , muggy , and sultry, what's the point. Todd you can get a subway or train{not sure which maybe both} to Manhatten then south street ferry for Staten island ferry. In Manhatten on the subway just remember uptown is north to the Bronx, down town is south to the ferries. Enjoy...

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. I am in classes and breakout sessions most of the day today and also have a few tomorrow. My plane leaves at 3 o'clock tomorrow so I may get to squeeze one of these things in this evening. I'm going to try and get to the ferry. That sounds really cool. Although having a slab of New York pizza and a deli sandwich sounds pretty good too. Todd

I will be leaving New York (jersey) soon. I didn't see much but the view was awesome. The conference I attended (Health E Voices) was sponsored by Janssen and they paid for my travel , meals, and hotel for me to come here. It was fun and I met some great people and learned some cool stuff. It will sure be feat to get home. Todd
