I finished SRT yesterday afternoon--38 sessions! I had Calypso markers and had both the prostate bed and pelvic lymph nodes included. I'm also on Lupron for at least 6 months and Casodex, which I finished yesterday. My SEs have been minimal--moderate fatigue and very mild bowel and urinary issues. The only special things I did were daily walks, reasonably careful diet and probiotics.
I want to thank the forum, especially Tall Allen, for all the great posts about
SRT. The information made my decision much easier. Now we wait and see what my PSA decides to do.

John,
That is great news. Sooner or later I will probably end up with SRT since I my PSA has been 0.1 for the past year and a half. Once it its 0.2 then I get nuked.

Congratulations John! It's great to get it behind you. I finished my last of 35 treatments today. I wish you well.

I would love to see a study of Calypso/fiducials vs long bones for image guidance during SRT, especially when the pelvic LN area is covered. It seems like a great idea, but few seem to do it. Does it broadcast the news when you turn the radio on? ;-)

John, well done to complete the IMRT journey! I had a bad lymph node as well which helped my decision to get started with IMRT at .1. I wanted a PSA reading right at the start of radiation and of course it dropped to .07 but given my lymph node, I stayed on course.
Look forward to your future updates.
Best,
Luther

John,
Glad to hear you came through in such good shape. Most guys don't find RT that difficult but the new wears off really fast and it gets to be a grind. I know it feels good to have it behind you.

Thanks for the replies.
Allen, no music yet but I am sure that the NSA can track me more effectively now. I told my urologist when he planted the markers to make sure that he didn't disturb the implants the aliens had left years ago.
