Bone pain not going away

Hi everyone,
My dad still in pain,he just had a zometa infusion 2 days ago,his both legs hurts a lot,deep pain in both legs.
He will be having spot radiation in two weeks time, he is on docetaxel now but the pain doesn't seem to go away.
I am trying to understand what we did wrong to let that disease be back and be more aggressive.

He is now on docetaxel and zometa, should we seek another opinion for more treatment?

You havent really done anything wrong Laila....your father just has an aggressive cancer. Looking at your profile...it seems you were treated right for a Gleason 8 aggressive cancer. Im in the same boat....my bone cancer has never totally left me....theres always been tumors in the neck, spine and shoulders that wont go away...Ive done about 8 bone scans since my diagnosis. The bone pain has never left me as well...been on pain killers for over 2 years now. One thing I would like to add....Have you tried Xofigo? This works well for reducing the tumors in the bones and helps reduce the pain.

I hope you don't think you did anything wrong. In fact, you did everything right. It's the disease, not you. The docetaxel takes some time to be effective. And I hope the spot radiation will help a lot with the pain.

The Casodex is not helping anymore, and may even be making it worse. Sometimes they try taking the patient off of it at this point, and try some second line hormone treatments. I don't know what's available in Morocco. I guess Xtandi and Zytiga are not available there, but ketoconazole and estrogen patches (DES or estradiol) may be, and are a lot less expensive.

Yes, he can start Zytiga if his oncologist agrees to that. It may work especially well with the docetaxel. Just monitor for neutropenia carefully, and be ready with pegfilgastrim should that occur.
