IMRT first treatment, nausea

Didn't happen to me. Make sure the technicians know this.

Don: Second hand advice from a friend who went through this; walk at least 4 miles a day after your treatment. With your Doc' blessing, of course.

Make sure your bowel is empty and your bladder is full.

Are they radiating the abdominal lymph nodes?

I had 25 IMRT sessions to the prostate and pelvic nodes and never had any nausea. After about 10 days I had increased urinary and bowel frequency that subsided once the radiation stopped.

Complain to the RO, techs, nurses, anyone who will listen. Too early in the process for this, but you just might be more sensitive than most. It's closer to the end (about 2 weeks) of treatments before I started feeling like this.

Still, there are some meds that will help with that. And walk - even if it's just a few laps around the house every hour.

I haven't had nausea yet, but increased need to pee and loose stools to near diarrhea . I started Monday of last week.

Tell the radiologists nurse she will get them to prescribe something.

Immodium D will help with the loose stools. Drink plenty of water at all times. Eliminate as much as possible caffeine, acid, and carbonation from your drinks. You may also need to curtail some types roughage from you diet, but not to the point of becoming constipated.
