It's not the answer you hoping to hear, but I'm afraid there is no contest. Dr Epstein's lab at JH is the gold standard. It doesn't really matter that MSK has a great - and well-deserved - reputation for cancer treatment. Pathologists, even at most top institutions, have to be able to read tissue and fluid samples from all manner of diseases. At Johns Hopkins, Epstein's lab is dedicated to
only reading prostate slides. Epstein's word is the final word.
I agree with Pratoman, that it would certainly be a good idea for the MSK pathologist to call Epstein to learn why his reading was incorrect, and hopefully, that will add to his training. But that doesn't help you really.
