Usually someone else posts this but I haven't seen it up so I will start the thread. I've been MIA for a bit. It's been one thing after another w/ Bob over the past month. This month he has 6 month post op PSA (July 10th) and a follow up with his GI doc after his colonoscopy which found he still has Ulcerative Colitis (July 15th). Hopefully, we will still have insurance so he can go to his doctor appointments. (Long story). Who else has tests this month? Wishing everyone well~Miki

@Teacher Lady...fingers crossed for great numbers tomorrow! Please let us know how it turns out. This one is making me nervous since Bob had a slight rise last time. These PSA tests make me nuts!~Miki

I'm still a bit over 3 weeks away from my next test. After nearly 5 years in remission it is on the move again. So the next test or two should give me an idea of how fast it is moving now that it is back.

Congrats Teacher Lady on the good news. We're heading to Little Rock tomorrow for PSA test and to meet w/ the Nurse practioner (every other visit you see the Nurse Practioner and the uro's). I don't even know why we're going for the test. Bob informed me tonight he will not pursue any other kind of treatment so what's the point of stressing over all these PSA tests?~Miki

Got my results today. Up to .06 from .048 in April.

Will be seeing my urologist later this month. Guess I'll get the ball rolling on SRT.

@Hd_Rider, Bob is in the same boat. He had a rise from .02 to .06 (same testing months as yours) They want to do one more test before seeing RO. Can you please keep me posted what your uro says when you go back later this month?

I had a physical today and the doc ordered a PSA and I had the draw done in the office. I just had one in January, but he wants to get me on a July to July schedule for physicals.

Mine was undetectable at 18 months as of Monday.

Regretfully, I've been sick and was also diagnosed with anemia earlier this week. My doc and I thought we had a handle on it (related to a double red blood cell donation in late April?), but I got a very ominous message this morning that I need to come in tomorrow to further discuss my blood tests. They made it sound like they found an underlying reason other than what we thought was going on. Why do nurses or other office staff phrase everything so that it provokes maximum anxiety in advance of an appointment?

I hope this is just a crossed wires issue, but they certainly have me worried.

Tests have always been in same range since I completed 5 fractions of SBRT 10-20-14

Testosterone <20 (same) even though I have started IHT about a month ago
DHT <5 (same)
PAP - Prostatic Acid Phosphatase = 0.8 (prior 0.9)
PSA < 0.02 (prior < 0.01)
vitamin D3 = 52 (prior 50)
alkaline phosphatase = 60 (prior 57)
CTC - circulating tumor cell test =0 (same)

Just got my results via a patient portal, less than 0.1.
Now over 8 years since the end of my last SRT treatment.

I will have my 5 1/2 yr. test on the 23rd. Every test until the 4th. yr. mark was <0.01 4 yr. mark was 0.02, 5th. yr. 0.06. I don't like the way it is going.

Just gave blood on Thursday, so no results yet. 30 month post proton.

Hubby's next PSA is in a few days, July 21. Was told by medical oncologist in May when PSA came back increased to .17 that his status is incurable, micrometastatic. (See stats below) We are getting a second opinion/consult at Sloan Kettering with medical oncologist. Super scared of what the next PSA will be. Expecting it to be elevated. Hoping it will be minimal and that HT can be held off for as long as possible. Does this ever get any easier?

SVI bilaterally (direct, not distal), LVI, pos margin at apex (3+3), EXE at base

7/01/14 to 8/27/14 - 40 sessions adjuvant radiation
11/26/2014 PSA three months after radiation: .03 (same as before radiation)
2/25/2015 PSA six months after radiation: .05
5/21/2015 PSA nine months after radiation: .17

Pratoman, anxiety has decreased over the years. Still a little ancy, so I go over my plan B each time. In my mind the 10 year mark will be a major milestone. A Johns Hopkins report says (in the setting of radical prostatectomy) that after 10 years of undetectable PSAs, the odds are 94% that you won't see it rise. Furthermore:
"No man with an undetectable PSA at 10 years died from prostate cancer within 20 years after radical prostatectomy. In this study, cancer returned in only 6 percent of men more than 10 years after radical prostatectomy. Of these men, by 20 years after surgery, only eight developed metastatic disease, and none died from prostate cancer."

Galileo, good to know. Knowing it gets easier, gives me something to look forward to. In my mind, 1 year will be a big deal for me.

My uro called yesterday and delivered another undetectable PSA. Also, the quarterly T test shows it is continuing to recover after three years of HT, but not quite in the normal range yet.

I'll probably drop by to see the vampire tomorrow. I'm slightly overdue... Been away for work.

Monday morning, 4 month checkup with my MO. PSA check, (hoping for still <0.1), and probably another 4 month Lupron shot (sigh). I'm growing very disenchanted with hormone therapy as time wears on...
