Well for the first time since 11-12-13 after the activation of my recently installed AMS 800 AUS...I am dry!!

This is the best thing ever, and I am now sitting in my recliner drinking a celebratory IPA since today is National IPA Day...greT feeling.

getting PSA tested this week, and met again with the Radiation Oncologist again in a week and a half hoping for another zero, and then start working on Mr ED...Thanks for all the support, and guidance.

Thanks Andrew it is amazing totally life changing!!! I couldn't be happier...I am on my third beer and dry as can be, same pad, just in case, since I changed it at 3:30 pm today at the docs office!!!

Congratulations, Paul! Isn't it great to recapture some of your life before surgery? One thing that my urologist told me on the day my AMS 800 was activated: "make sure you empty your bladder every couple of hours or so." I try to do that but sometimes I get busy and forget. Then eventually I get a strong feeling of urgency and have to find a toilet or urinal quickly. My life is so back to normal again that occasionally I forget I have an AUS.

Anyway, enjoy your new lease on life!

Thanks everyone!!! It is kind of surreal...and to now have control of something that has escaped me for so many months...I have been wearing regular underwear for 24 hours..slept with nothing on last night just to prove it works...still getting the hang of the best way to juggle things when going, but it is truely amazing, well worth the pain and troubles for the last six weeks, and glad to put the last 20 months behind me!!! Here's to many ,ore years of staying dry!!!

Congrats again Paul. I wanted to touch base yesterday with you on your journal thread to complete that chapter.

So you slept commando last night! Great feeling, huh.

Nice little toy isn't it. I just drove to South Carolina this morning to visit relatives. I stopped at several rest stops that I used to stop at and change pads in when I was still leaking. I had to laugh what a difference it is now.

BTW, one toilet had a sign that said, "Hands free operation". Well, not exactly for me.

The next thing is your wardrobe. Pleated-front pants with a high rise (long zipper) give you more room to get at the necessary controls. Tight, low-rise jeans can slow you down.

Congratulations! I am soooo happy for you. We had our RALPs on the same day, 11/12/13.
It is terrific to see that you, Peterdisabelard and Big Mac were all able to benefit from the same type of implant. Wonders of medical technology!

I have got it down pat now.

I can use 1 finger on my left hand to stabilize and thumb and index finger to squeeze n pump too easy...

One thing that I can no longer do is pee in the pool...and my URO told me I had no limitations! I need to email him LOL
