(No Subject)

Just received my latest PSA test post SRT. My signature shows my basic history. Obviously, not thrilled with the 0.2, was expecting no worse than 0.1 and was hoping for undetectable.

I'm hoping some of you have some similar experiences and can give me some guidance.

I have been going to Austin Urology and believe they've done well.

I have two main questions at this point is: Should I begin dealing with an oncologist from now on, rather than the urologist? OR Should I be seeing someone at MD Anderson or Cancer Centers of America?

As you can tell, I have less than a year dealing with this, so I am a newbie. Just hope y'all can point me so I'm doing the smart thing. Much appreciate all input.

It's a little too early to worry about it. RT can take awhile before it shows results. Just enjoy life for awhile and retest in three months. You're doing just fine.

However, now that you've done the two primary treatments a consult with an oncologist who specializes in PC might give you some peace of mind. Not sure they'd change your treatment plan, but you might find the info useful.

That is basically what is now scheduled. My next PSA is scheduled for late October. I'll do that and then meet with the radiation doc to see what has happened between now and then.

I have a bunch of fun stuff coming up, so I will take that advice to just enjoy life.

I definitely will do some research into seeing a medical oncologist at MD Anderson. Will try to schedule a visit there to get some extra eyes on my case.
