PT3A, still zeros after 3 years 4 months. Doing good, but sex pretty much a distant memory.

I am at one of those unpleasant junctures that I was hoping to avoid. On my first PSA test after DaVinci I had 1.2. This was a blow as I was hoping to have this "prostate cancer episode" pretty much behind me, especially since I had clean margins. Well, so much for wishful thinking. My surgeon has handed me off to a Medical Oncologist who I will see in a few days. What to do next? It seems to me radiation is out because of the clean margins and no specific target to aim for. HT seems like the logical step but i am quite concerned about it. Now I have now symptoms, except for ED, and am very physical and active. I don't want to compromise my current life style any more that I have to, because of feeling so well. Could I do nothing and wait? After all, pre op, my PSA was 18 and now it is 1.3. PSA is indicative of the amount of cancer there isn't it? At any rate, I am now quite anxious and am looking for some insight.

I am giving update from early May 2015

I finished SRT on May 15, 2015. I received my 10.5 week PSA reading back today. It <.006. Really good news. Could not do better- hope that it is a durable number.

You are very similar to my situation except I have one positive node. My PSA is 0.0 but my urologist/surgeon strongly recommended additional therapy since I came up high risk on the Decipher genome test so here I am with my first six month Luperon injection last Friday and I start ART early November. I'm okay with it - better to be proactive IMHO.

Congrats on your newest PSA 0.006! I know you must be happy.

I retested last month and found I was 0.06 instead of 0.1. The Quest Lab my doc was using did not show anything lower than 0.1. I had another test from another lab and found it to be <0.1.

As far as what we could do to make the "pT3 Club" we should just make a list of all members who belong and watch for additional new members to join in like Redwing did. It will give the newbees somewhere go and vent or ask questions if they want to and we will understand how they feel.

Cool idea! Interesting too to consider if having that as part of diagnosis affected the treatment choice. It's helpful to those surfing these threads looking for information.

It's a significant risk factor all by itself. Lots of studies define a "high risk" cohort as including folks with a T3/T4 condition.

Mine's a cT3a, based on MRI results. I had a 3T MRI that showed shadowy extension outside the capsule. Apparently MRI isn't always successful at finding this, but if it does show then it's very likely there and possibly more significant than the MRI shows.

It did affect my treatment choice, since with this and G9 my uro onc was not optimistic about surgery (and very aggressive surgery to boot) being curative. I ended up going with radiation as primary treatment, with curative intent, since it was more likely to cover the risk area better with fewer side effects.

66yr old T3a G7 here - 36 week PSA of .02 (minutes ago). It's steady since RRP December '14. I feel fortunate. Great forum - best to everyone.

DH is pT3bN1Mx. Just completed SRT after prostatectomy. Currently on ADT (18 months).

Question for you all: why is it some of us have only RALP and others have RALP + other therapy? What are the determiners for other treatments?

Hello all,
I'm in. pT3a. Extraprostatic extension (a microscopic focus of adenocarcinoma is seen to extend beyond
the prostate capsule into periprostatic connective tissues-block 4)

Gleeson 3+3. 5-7% of prostate

Margin Evaluation: R0 Distance of tumor from closest margin : Less than 1 mm

SV, Bladder neck negative. Lymph nodes not tested.

I am waiting and watching the PSA. Next one 22 months postop in December.

Just had an Advance Sling placed for incontinence. That is doing well except I still have the anti-Tom Brady
syndrome.... My balls are overinflated

pT3a and Gleason 6... 13 years ago in 2007... SRT 2010... PSA has since rose to .20-.30 range but steady last few years
