Blood in Urine Today

10 weeks after RALP I am now experiencing blood in my urine. Has happened a couple of times today. Called my uro but can't get in to see him until next month. I'm not all that concerned because it just started and it has only happened twice in my 4 bathroom visits. I understand that hematuria can occur for many months after surgery. Am I correct assuming that it is likely to go away?

Bx and Dx Feb 2015 = 4 of 12 cores all G6 (5-25%)
RALP at USC on 6/8/15 ECE, Margins, LN, SV all negative

likely it's nothing to worry about. Maybe you over did a little on lifting or exercise.

I find it odd that even with blood in your urine it would take a month to get an appointment. Normally they like to check that kind of think out right away. If you still see blood tomorrow, call back and cry loudly or get a new URO if needed.

Hi Journey,
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago at about 10 or 12 weeks after robotic removal. I rang the Uro who was on holidays and the office nurse asked me a number of questions about blood thinning medications of which I was on none. However she did say that the 7 or 8 cups of green tea a day could be a contributing factor because of its blood thinning properties. The blood happened after a 3 km run.
Anyway, the Uro returned and asked me to have a Renal ultra sound and urine tests to check on everything. He is an ultra cautious man. I am waiting for the results but I am not concerned. I reckon it was a one of day and it has not happened again.

Happened to me also for several months after my RP......everytime i lifted something heavy I would see a little blood but it went away quickly after a few urinations. I called my Dr and he said that was perfectly normal as long as it cleared up relatively fast.

Yes, you are correct in your thinking. Drink lots of water. It is VERY likely to go away.

It happened to me as I got somewhat more active after the surgery. I had to slow down a bit.
