In 2013 I started peeing blood and got a cystoscopy, My PSA was 4.3. I got a prostate biopsy when it went up to 7.5. It was negative. The guy that did it I found out later had sanctions regarding substandard care. He has no hospital privileges.
I didn't see him for 6 or 7 months and he said my PSA was 4.54. I called to see what it was. He didn't want to see me for 6 months during the visit. He said he would call if there was any problems with the PSA test.
Isn't a PSA that high a problem? The hospital said I had bph when I was peeing blood. I took Keflex, Cipro and levaquin for 6 months. It cleared up an irregular heart beat that I had for 3 years after a heart attack, but did nothing for my BPH and some discomfort in the scrot that started with the biopsy.
He didn't use any imaging, just stuffed a metal guide with slots in it up my ass and took a 12 core biopsy with a gun. Now, I'm really wondering about this guy. been having trouble peeing and cardura made me feel too faint, I started taking Pygeum and Saw Palmetto. It helped some but didn't do a lot for the first year taking 3 of each a day. (The pygeum is standardized) Then it started woking good. I am only taking one of each and peeing good. I just mentioned that in case it could help anyone. Now I think it's great stuff. I recommend it. I am going just fine now, but that discomfort in the taint area is still there.
I was just wondering if I am getting sub-standard care? With a PSA that is down some in 2 years to 4.54 shouldn't I have some testing done, like an MRI?
I felt kind of bad asking this to you guys that have been through hell, but who else am I going to ask? Someone that don't have an answer? My grandpa on my mothers side died of PC.
Thanks a lot guys! Also thanks to Wildlife for getting me in the right place.
