HDR & EBRT

I am new to the forum; I was diagnosed on 2/27/15 w/ one core of 12 showing a Gleason 4+3 and a PSA of 10.1. My CT and MRI showed no extension of the disease outside the capsule and no evidence it had spread to my bones, lymph nodes or seminal vesicles. My stage is T1c. I had a lupron injection on May 7 and fiducails were implanted on May 18. I had infections from both the biopsy and the implants treated by antibiotics, and I had terrible insomnia for a month (5/21-6/19) until I got a prescription for trazadone (which was an unnecessary hassle). I ended up fleeing Kaiser South (Bakersfield) for Kaiser North. On August 12, my PSA was 0.7 and my testosterone was <20. I am scheduling for HDR w/ follow-up EBRT in early November at Santa Clara and Rohnert Park respectively. Any thoughts on Dr. Nag and Dr. Scala at Santa Clara?

Like JNF, I had the same triple play combo that you'll be having. Ditto regarding my experience--all is well. Sorry to hear about your infection, however. While infections from biopsies are common, I had never heard about infection from placing the fidicuals before.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on your doctors either, but your treatment plan is a proven one for high risk cases...
