68Ga-PSMA PET-CT

I am scheduled for a 68Ga-PSMA PET-CT next Thursday 29th, I have just had a bone scan and CT scan which showed nothing, has anyone had this scan?

I had similar problem of rising psa and unable to find cause after failed RP and SRT. So went to Sand Lake Imaging in Orlando for MRI with contrast to pelvis and and PET Ct scans to chest. They found two suspicious pelvic lymph nodes. So I'm getting radiation to lymph nodes and ADT at Dattoli Cancer Center in Sarasota . I suggest you google both facilities.

Sorry...only had the PSMA-DCFBC Pet/CT a few weeks ago and periodic f18 bone scans.

Let us know how you make out.

No, I guess my situation was PSA recurrence without mets. PSA at that time was only 0.8. I was told that this test can detect lesions as small as 1 mm.

Yes that is what they told me, I guess because nothing has shown up in two lots of bone and CT scans in 6 months, they are trying to find what is pushing my PSA up, thanks for the info.

Mal,

I had one back in August and it was required that I have a CT scan & full body bone scan first. My history is that I have a persistent PSA - it had jumped to .24 prior to the scans but dropped to .19 after.

All 3 scans were negative, I asked at the time the PSMA scan was being done whether anything could be detected at that PSA level and the response was that they were quite confident. Another fellow I spoke with who had the PSMA scan at a different hospital was told that .5 was the minimum PSA at which they could detect anything - he wasn't required to have the CT & full body bone scans.

Hi maldugs,

my father had the 68-g scan just last week. It showed one focal marrow lesion that a Multi-Parametric MRI and Bone Scan had missed and confirmed lymph node involvement, which the multi-parametric MRI had also detected. Per the research I've read, it seems like the most accurate scan for detecting metastases.

Thanks guys, hope they do find what is pushing up my PSA now, will let you know the results after I see my oncologist on 4th Nov.

Curious, how small will ct and bone scans find?
