Good peyronies doc near Philadelphia?

Does anyone know of a top notch peyronies doc near Philadelphia? I know Dr. Mulhall at Sloan Kettering is one of the best. I not sure that I can get DH to go to NYC.

Thanks Gedman, I've tried to make appointment with Dr Mulhall, but he won't take DH without a diagnosis by another doctor. Getting a diagnosis is going to be difficult if we can't get into see a doctor. I'm still trying to get a response from DH's oncologist Urologist. Very frustrating that I haven't been able to get any appointment scheduled. When DH had the testosterone reading of 2000 the first couple endocrinologists didn't have an appointment for 6 months! (we finally got an appt after 4 weeks when they had a cancellation) I hope that's not what will happen here.

A broadway show wouldn't be an inducement for DH. If it were an old growth forest, he might be agreeable, LOL. I haven't even mentioned yet the fact that the doctor I want him to see is in NYC. He won't even go into Philly.

I'm going to ask him to do it because it's important to me. I expect it's the only thing that will get him to NYC. So far he has said he won't go to another doctor at all. In 30 years he never missed a day of work due to illness. Now in the last year he's missed 3 months of work, and seen about 15 different doctors. GP, urologist, UO, MO, RO, lymphedema dr, orthopedist, infectious disease specialist, endocrinologist , lympedema therapy, physical therapy, MRIs, CTscans, beacons, biopsy, been in the emergency room a couple times..... He's just burned out. He doesn't want anything to do with more tests, doctors, and stress. He also used up a week of vacation going on short term disability. Any more time off is using the rest of his vacation time.

He's a really good man. I wish it could be me and not him that has to suffer

My husband is a patient of Dr. Mulhall. Dr. Mulhall treats men with ED, peyronies, and other sexual dysfunctions. Your statement that Dr. Mulhall will not see your husband without a diagnosis of peyronies from another doctor does not sound like the office protocol that we have experienced. One of the things that Dr. Mulhall does is to diagnose peyronies by way of ultrasound. I know this because my husband had it done. They also measure the curve and do their own analysis. Dr. Mulhall runs a tight ship and I cannot see him accepting another doctor's diagnosis without conducting his own investigation.

I wonder if it is possible that you were given erroneous information by someone at MSKCC. To make an appointment I would suggest calling the office directly and not the appointment hotline at MSKCC.

My husband developed peyronies about a year after his surgery, but it happened quickly. Dr. Mulhall told us that it is often the result of an injury, which is an event that is a point in time, not a slow process.

My husband had peyronies twice. The first time it was a slight bend to one side. Dr. Mulhall had him use a stretching device, which eliminated the peyronies after a few months.

The second time he developed a slight bend facing up. This time the stretching device was not successful. The PA of his surgeon suggested using a VED. He tried that and it was successful in reversing most of the bend.

Both of his peyronies bends were very slight, and even if they had not reversed, did not present a problem. My husband treated them because he did not want them to get worse.

How bad is it? My boyfriend developed it 7 months after surgery. We still aren't sure if it was the surgery or the shots or the trip the ER after a miscalculation of trimix, but it did eventually heal itself without any intervention. We just use pills now as his nerves are healed enough. Our surgeon was Dr. Samadi in NYC and he had referred us to Dr. Arnold Melman in NYC. He is an older, quirky doc, but legendary in the urology biz. All the rock stars have studied under him. Anyway, we used him for trimix/ED help after surgery and he can treat Peyronie's as well. He told us to do nothing, and it worked out. But if you do need intervention, he can treat you, and you can get an appt fairly quickly. Google, Dr. Arnold Melman on Park Ave, NYC. Great, great guy!

See my previous post. Try to get him to go to Dr. Melman in NYC. Great guy. No fuss. You can get right in. He can fix it. There are options for your husband to resolve this.
