Everyone welcome her and her DH.

Hello, this is Jen posting on behalf of my DH. We are in the land of unknown right now and I think he belongs to this group. I am hopeful the ADT treatment will lower his PSA and give more time to recover from surgery.

Welcome to HW, sorry you need to be here.
The ADT will knock that PSA down. It can take awhile to fully heal from surgery.
Hang in there and we're here when you need us,
Andrew

Welcome Jen!
Of course, sorry you have to be here, but your DH is lucky to have you in his corner, helping in his journey!
You and him are doing great...his PSA is dropping, and with the ADT, I"m sure it will drop even more for him! I'm confident he will soon be a member of the zero club!
Please, if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask, we are all in this together and here to help!!

Hello Jen,
Like others have said, sorry you have to join this crummy club, but these folks have been a great source of support and knowledge for my DH and me!
It was 4years ago this month when Jims first PSA post-surgery came in at 6.9--higher than before surgery!
Talk about
a kick in the gut :[ He got the lupron shot and PSA plummeted quickly to below 0. That felt good! We've been fighting the beast since then and learned alot from smart people here at Healing Well. And we've met several couples at the twice yearly events.
Our email is active if you ever need to talk. I (mswampuscat) do most of the communicating online. Jim's more of a flip phone kinda guy!
Hang in there, hang on us (HW) when you need to...

Jen,
There are a few more Henry Ford alumni here too. Sonny3 from FL, Compiler in Michigan, and us. We traveled from Central IL and spent a week at "Hotel Henry Ford"
Dr. Peabody was our surgeon and i think Dr. Menon did Mel and Sonny surgery. Unfortunately all of us ended up with residual cancer.
Jim just had salvage lymph node surgery at Mayo in Oct. It was very reminiscent of RALP with the incisions and bruising...but without the catheter. Did your hubby have the supra pubic cath too? Hopefully he's recouping well. I'm guessing he'll be heading for Salvage Radiation after a bit of healing.
Please keep us updated on his progress. The smart folks here are loaded with info on oncologists and radiation specializing in PCa.

Jen, welcome! Best wishes with HT. If SEs pop up that you don't understand...just ask. Lot of guys here have been through it all. Hopefully they will be minimal.
Marie, I sure miss my flip phone. Lol. I'm a Kindle kinda gal

Jen
Welcome to the club. This is my second round of HT and SEs Are drastically reduced because of meds I'm taking to offset SEs. I highly suggest you look into these which have made HT bearable:
Estradiol patch , changed twice weekly eliminated hot flashes and night sweats.
Prolia injection works to halt osteoporosis
dostinex lessens breast enlargement and increases libido
Avodart blocks conversion of T to DHT
Vitamin D3 and calcium
Metformin has anti cancer properties
Seriously discuss with your caregiver.
Bob
