Rising PSA (again) - questions -- UPDATE

Hi, My PSA was 7.5 a year ago, I am 62 years old. Got a negative 12 core biopsy the old fashioned way, no imaging, just stuck a metal guide up my butt with slots on each side. Had some complications, burning down L leg into foot for one. Does that sound like nerve damage? My PSA is now 4.54 and just saw the Doc that did it again. He doesn't want to see me for 6 months. The last time I saw him was January. That was because I didn't feel like going back, not his fault.

I just feel like I should have an MRI or something and might be getting shoddy medical care. Other guy's get a biopsy guided by doppler or something, don't they? I don't even mind that part as much as thinking I might need some test that I'm not getting from this guy. Come to find out he has had problems and has sanctions w/no privileges at any hospital.

Anyone got an opinion?

I have come to feel that the most important decisions I make re medical care are picking the providers whose diagnostic skills I will trust and whose advice I will follow. Sounds like you feel you don't have the best one for yourself. Go for it!
