Mine is a bit of a sad saga but I'm interested in whether anyone has had a similar experience. Radical Prostatectomy in Feb 2014. Radiation Therapy and commence ADT June 2014. Due to persistent incontinence male sling inserted Dec 2014. After 7 adjustments sling deemed to be a failure and AUS (artificial urinary sphincter) recommended. First surgery for implantation of AUS April 2015. Incontinence not corrected (three pads per day required) recommendation that revision surgery be performed with transcorporeal cuff used. This surgery performed early November 2015. Incontinence still not remediated (at the moment 2 pads per day required). I'm not happy with this level of incontinence and will be getting a second opinion from another Urologist to determine whether anything more can be done. I am interested in hearing if anyone has had similar experience but with better success.

I'll be interested in following your progress. I have an AUS which helps but I do wish it worked better than it does. I am generally using one pad a day but at the end of the day that pad is pretty damp. (My pads gain about 100g a day so I am leaking about 100 ml/day.)

Incontinence after prostate surgery and radiation can be hard to correct. But, of course, you don't need me to tell you that. Hopefully they'll invent something that works for us. Hopefully...

Sorry to hear about all the leakage and AUS replacement problems. I recall sometime ago that some urinary control systems were deemed faulty by the Australian Government. check /www.tga.gov.au/alert/ams-800-control-pump-artificial-urinary-control-system It might be irrelevant in your case but the check the quality for your wares and whether they were "fit-for-purpose"!

Thanks for your interest and prompt response. I've had a conversation with my General Practitioner who is going to assist by contacting the head of Urology directly and asking him if he knows of a Urologist locally or interstate who has experience with my problem. I know there is a newer device called Flow Secure which uses two pressure compensating reservoirs (instead of one as the AUS does) but this is a recent innovation without long term evidence.
