A Day & Night in a Living Hell

My root issue on the problem is adhesions and my ability to scar massively and quickly. This is the same thing that happened to me years ago when I had all the stricture issues for nearly 2 years. Constipation is not the main issue, its uncommon for me, its more to do with actual intestine closures, etc.

I already do Miralax morning and night, and take a total of 750 mg. of stool softeners daily. When these obstructions occur, it comes out of no where, no warning, no way to know if it the real thing, or one that will resolve on its own. It still comes back to severe radiation damage from my SRT back in 2009.

Surgeon and my oncologist, both say, that I can expect further spreading of damage in the future. It appears, though not officially diagnosed yet, that the bleeding in my kidney(s) is the result of late radiation damage. Won't know the answer on that till mid January. The night I went into the ER, just prior to leaving the house, had a bag full of blood, instead of urine.

UPDATE MONDAY MORNING:

I get a call from the new dermatologist this morning, the culture from my scalp came back, found out I have a serious case of MRSA!

Life just keeps getting better all the time, what's next?

David, so sorry to hear you are having such problems but so glad that you seem to have a bit of respite.

David- glad you heard from the dermatologist. Sorry it's MERSA 9at least it's not a recurrence of your previous skin cancer). MERSA is such an opportunistic infection. Your wife will know the procedures for dealing with it, though and that is good. Hopefully the doc will give you a good, strong antibiotic that will help, too. Prayers continue

Yikes, it sounds like you have been thru the wringer lately.

I am hoping/praying that somehow treating the MRSA will help with your digestion issues.

(How you ask? Heck if I know, but I can be hopeful.)

The MRSA issue has me concerned, taking the super antibiotics twice daily, plus special cream for the lesion on my scalp. In the past 24 hours, my incision (6") from the October surgery had healed up fine, but now is turning red and burny feeling. Also, having a big increase on the bladder spasms, more than normal.

Hoping these aren't signs of MRSA spreading. Wife (nurse) is keeping a close eye on both areas, if needed, will contact the treating doctor sooner rather than later.

fwiw...My bowels aren't back yet either with constipations with "no known cause".



My GP gave me some samples of "Linzess". This isn't a laxative in the traditional sense if the word. It works mainly in the rectum. So...There is no cramping. It's also safe for long term use. It's also used to treat constipation "with no known cause".

I think it's turning my situation around. Whether it would dent yours is another matter.

David, here's hoping you can celebrate Christmas with peace of mind and knowing so many care!

Ron's brain aneurysm surgery is scheduled for December 29. He fears this more than he did the Prostate Cancer surgery. May you feel the spirit and love of Christmas!
