BillyBob, its a conflict i will live with for the rest of my life.
Today, i got an email from Bens Deli, a Kosher Deli that i was a regular at before i was diagnosed with CAD. It was advertising a "Bens Burger". A giant hamburger, topped with a mound of hot pastrami, on a seeded bun.
OMFG!! I want that so bad.
Yes, Ornish would be tough for me. I've had fish for dinner the last 6 nights and even that is hard.
Anyway, sorry, didnt mean to hijack the thread, but wanted to respond.
LOL! Yeah I was just yankin your chain, and trying to sound like the soup you know what from Seinfeld, 'No soup for you" except "No Ornish" at least not for your celebration. And even though I often provide the conflicting evidence for taking virtually the opposite(from Ornish) approach, I am in the same conflict as you. Not for CV reasons, despite not having the greatest LDL readings I have decided to ignore that since I have that zero calcium score. But for the PC(and cancer in general) possibilities I am considering a little or no meat approach, though I am not sure I could do it. But I can at the least greatly increase my vegy to meat ratio, by a whole lot. That book (by Greger)I have read certainly makes a super strong case, almost too strong to ignore.
But ONE thing seems VERY likely to me: if you did not also drown in an orgy of carbohydrates, all studies show that low PSA celebratory high saturated fat steak probably nudged you towards a higher HDL, which may(or not, whoever knows
) help you stay with us long enough to enjoy many more low PSAs in the future! So enjoy (low PSA AND that steak) without guilt!
