Btw, I agree the drain pull was really really weird. I found the cath pull to actually be much less weird, and easier. FWIW
Hey KRG: Ditto. My wife(we are both advanced practice RNs) let the air out of the cath bulb but for some odd reason did not want to pull it, so I pulled my own with her cheering me on!
Very strange for sure, but no actual pain or even real discomfort. My drain had to stay in longer than the catheter, a good 2 or 3 weeks total, it took that long for the drainage to finally get low enough. My wife did pull that for me after removing the stitches, and it was stuck!
Thought for a minute I was going to have to get down to the URO's office. But I had her continue on with some stronger tugs, and it finally popped out. A bit scary, but once again no actual pain.
Good to hear you appear to be progressing quite normally!
