Zoladex and Arthritis

I started zoladex 6 months ago and just had my third shot last week. The first three months went off with the typical flashes, by the end of month four the aches and pains started ,every joint in my body. Seems every old injury i acquired over the years has come come back with vengeance. Some of the pains have simmered down, but knees and hips still aches. The thing that bothers the most is the memory loss. Short term memory took a big hit, have a bad case of CRS ( can't remember crap).I have sticky notes everywhere. Drives my wife nuts, every time she asks if I remembered to do something I can't remember if I did it or not. The other problem is the fatigue, my get up go has gone. Also now insomnia is a issue, adds to the fatigue, no matter how much sleep I get I'm aways tired .And let's not forget the depression. Did I leave anything out. Just having to much fun sorry for the long winded reply.

It affects everyone in different ways, but because of the low T the fatigue is always there, are you canadian by any chance, the reason I ask is your handle canuck77. I'm on a 2 year trial post surgery psa was 0.60 three months post opp. Rad for six weeks plus Zoladex 2 years. I work evenings. 4 days a week so that works because of the insomnia. I know the HT can be hard to deal with but hang in there. G8 is nothing to take for granted. If at first you don't succeed hit it with a bigger hammer
Oh totally forgot where I was going, I use Naproxen to help with the pain. Aleve also helps it has Naproxen in it,I also use a Indian herb called Ashwagandha it helps with adrenal fatigue. Ok I'm done

Just had my PSA done yesterday 0.01 as long it keeps in that range I'll put up with the zoladex. Hopefully without going nuts first.

Wow forgot all about this tread, guess I'll check in. Although I have now been off zoladex for a year the insomnia short memory fatigue still continue to bother me. Don like you have been l using zopacone for the insomnia, but it leaves me with a nasty hangover and messes with my memory even more. I found 20 mg of melatonin followed buy 100mg benadryl and 1mg lorazepam works best for me. I take modafinil for the fatigue but because it boost histamines I take the antihistamines at bed time and get a good nights sleep without the morning hangover. Dam you gotta love pharmaceuticals. My PSA as of las week is 0.0 2. Down from 0.04

Don I noticed you mentioned hip pain ,was that before or after RT. The reason I ask is, after my RT I started experiencing pain in my left hip, docs figure nerve damage from RT. I have always taken naproxen for various arthritic pain but this was different, later I started experiencing burning in my legs especially when trying to get to sleep kind of a restless leg syndrome, so just on a hunch I convinced my doc to write a script for gabapentin it worked for the burning feeling, but as a bonus it also helped to diminish the intensity And frequency of the hot flashes go figure.

Yia right me too, what a crock. Not only is there a risk of nerve damage but also to the bursa sacks ie: bursitis quite painfull. Still dealing with the hip pain and it's been over two years. But hey Im not looking at a dirt bed let, so can't really complain. Be careful if going off the zopocone ,it made me ill when I tried, had to do it slowly. Take care...
