I made it through my HDR Brachytherapy at UCLA. darn it was a long night with those 18 catheters in there. What a torture chamber. The entire staff at UCLA was great. I am really glad that is over. I will start my IMRT planning with Dr Fogel in Ventura next week. I am thankful for everyone's support.

You will do well. I had the system using two different procedure days to avoid the hospital "torture chamber" you experienced. You will probably have a better initial recovery than me because just as I was healing from the first I had to get punctured again. I think my recovery took at least an extra week that you won't worry about.

I'm one week out from my second implant. Separating the implants one week apart wasn't bad. I actually bounced back quicker from the second as opposed to the first implant for some reason. Glad to hear you're on the other side of your HDB like me! I'm monotherapy so no IMRT for me, just a follow up appt four months out. cool

It will likely be difficult to sit on hard surfaces for a while. But I predict you'll be back to normal pretty quickly. Well, as normal as one can be while on HT. That's the hardest part of this whole treatment.

My second HDR-B round at UCLA was easier to handle than the first one. I learned to love that push button pain med dispensor!
