Nashville,
Adding my welcome again on this thread. When Gary was diagnosed over 5 years ago he had a PSA of almost 2000! He had a biopsy that showed a Gleason 9 and scans that showed cancer in all his bones, many lymph nodes and several tumors. He has also undergone many many treatments including hormone therapy, chemo, and radiation.
The reason everyone is firing questions at you is that Prostate Cancer is a strange beast that's is sometimes contained in the prostate and sometimes has spread. And the newest treatments and sequence depend upon all of those things. You can ask your Dr for printout of lab work, etc to get the medical stats.
As you take some time trying to assimilate your diagnosis and trying to figure out what the heck the people here are asking you to do, just let us support you emotionally for now.
Believe me, it took a while for me to figure out what all those acronyms stood for and how to set up my profile and signature. As you are doing that, ask questions about
that if you need to.
But this is for sure the right place to get your treatment questions answered and the emotional support you need.
Hang in there brother. We don't discuss religion here, but we do send healing thoughts and prayers upon request and I have just sent mine for you.
Beth
