We all know, or should know, that salvage radiation (SRT) is always something of a gamble. I wanted to recap some success stories here. These are based on updates provided by the members and/or their signatures, as well as some success stories from other sites I haunt.
This list is not comprehensive. I'm sure I've missed people. If you'd like to add your own entry, please reply.
The entry lists the screen name, date (sometimes approximate) of end of SRT, recent PSA, years free of PSA progression. Note: I may have mixed in some guys who were really adjuvant--I've tried not to, to stay with the subject of SRT success.
My criteria was most recent PSA less than 0.1 and at least 2 years out from the end of radiation. I did not exclude guys who received a course of ADT along with the radiation.
All entries are as reported on HealingWell, unless otherwise noted. As you can see, the longest time periods are for guys reporting on the Usenet system (which you can access via Google Groups). That's probably because Usenet is the grandaddy of discussion forums on the Internet, dating back to the earliest days.
