So there is a rise going on? sorry to hear it! Opie, is there something in your story that I am missing? I see Y'all had a fairly low risk G3+4 back in 05, it was contained and nodes clear, but still 16 weeks of Casodex was started after surgery?

Why was that, i.e. Casodex, if I may ask, considering that pretty favorable pathology report? And if that is not enough, even with the Casodex after a favorable report, the PSA has been on a slow rise since 07.

Of course, I realize anything is possible in this unpleasant game, but I was wondering if there were any other risk factors to be reported?

I see nothing to really be greatly concerned about...that's a doubling time of 3 years based on the 2013 number... even using the May 2015 as the baseline, that's still 20 months doubling time...which isn't an issue.

Just keep monitoring, as you are basically under AS at this point.

Just got back home from CTCA,Goodyear. My PSA level is again undetectable, all other blood levels are good. Taking Zytiga and Prednisone every day. Onc. Dr advised that I could choose to try a Lupron Vacation, so I said yes. Some concern on my part that my testosterone will rise. We will see the result in three months and then re-evaluate. Feeling good, just need continue to exercise more, as my muscles are disappearing, maybe no Lupron will help. Also,of course try to eat more healthy.
I will celebrate by eating off diet, a ZERO candy bar..maybe just one bite!

My situation pertains to a cytology test. If THAT comes back positive, it's BAD news.
This was done after a urinary bleed. It will be 3 weeks Tuesday since my test.
It is supposed to take a week.
For some reason -- probably FEAR -- I have not called the doctor's office.
I suspect that no news is probably good news -- ie: maybe they only call when there is an issue.

(My sudden urinary bleed happened during straining after a BM a few months ago. I suspect I blew a blood vessel. It quickly went away and no repetition so far)
