RO said with LDR I would be off work 6 weeks, swelling of prostate from the cathaters that impact the prostate below the scrotum will be painful and urgency needs to get under control.
For those of us who have had or know something about
LDR Brachy, those comments from the RO seem ridiculous and/or ignorant. Many of us have the catheter (singular) removed before we wake up, are back to normal activities within a couple of days and use Flomax effectively to control minor frequency and urgency issues.
Rather than take your advice from an RO who admittedly knows little about
LDR Brachy, why not take the time to speak with an expert who does many procedures.
Your cancer is likely to be cured by any of many options including surgery, LDR Brachy, HDR Brachy and SBRT. Due diligence would suggest you investigate each by speaking with experts in each. You get one chance to do this right the first time so please don't rely on knowledge from less-than-experts.

P.S. BTW, did you get your biopsy slides re-read by an expert prostate cancer pathologist such as Epstein or Bostwick? If not, you may not even have the right numbers to work with....
