anyone dealt with proctitis?

Hey folks, i`m quite aways out from mr robot but had to have several surgeries for a couple of different things kind of right in a row. I`m dealing with what i think is proctitis brought on by having to be put under a half dozen times etc. Feeling that weird pressure and passing some bright red blood and a bit of occasional mucus. Feel ok otherwise and passed a recent in depth physical with no problems. Any insight would be welcomed. Thanks Tim

I suffered from radiation proctitis following 37 sessions of RT.

Wasn't terribly bad but had all the symptoms you describe, pressure/urgency, occasional bleeding and a bit of mucus leakage.

After a year or so, I had a colonoscopy which confirmed the proctitis and had a number of spots zapped with diathermy. Has now completely cleared up. No bleeds or leakage since then.

I too had radiation proctitis . Had it treated with endoscopic radio frequency ablation but I still have rectal bleeding off and on. I use stool softeners to reduce straining.

With time radiation proctitis symptoms become less frequent and severe. A colonoscopy verified the problem, but I opted to not have laser or oxygen treatment . At a younger age, I would have had the problem corrected..
