Good morning sports fans, fellow cancer fighters and families.
I am here to report that at one week from my first Taxotere treatment all is extremely well. No side effects at all to date. I can only hope that the next 5 treatments will be as smooth and uneventful. Also, at 2.5 months into Lupron, I am not really showing any effects from it either, except for a tremendous drop in PSA.
I have always said that I will give cancer its due diligence when it is required and for the rest of the time it goes on the back burner and I will enjoy life. Well that time has come again.
In keeping with my mantra that "Every Day is A Bonus" and my only job is to choke the life out of it, my wife and I are off on a new adventure.
In a spur of the moment decision we leave on Saturday for the 800 mile trip to Lake Cumberland, KY. Hooking the boat up to the back of the pickup and we are going fishing for 8 days. Having never fished Cumberland before I have hired a guide for our first day there to learn about
the lake. The weather looks to be great for the week with daytime temps in the low 70s, while here in FL it is expected to be in the high 80s to 90s.
My wife is from KY and fished here years ago as a child, the idea just popped into her head that we should take a break from all of this cancer crud and go. So from a brief conversation about
it to full on planning mode took about
5 minutes.
My next Tax treatment is scheduled for May 25th, so I will be back to report on it afterwards.
So you folks try to find something that brings you joy today and everyday. As for me, I will be turning off the computers and electronics tomorrow at midnight and be gone.
Sonny
