What a trip during the past couple of years. Had daVinci back in November 2013 and first post surgery PSA was <0.1 followed by 2 years of 0.1 until this past October it it 0.2 (see note below). So beginning November 2015 I started my first of 39 treatments of IGRT (71 grays) and finished up 2 days after New Years 2016. I just got my first PSA result after treatment and it is <0.02 (undetectable ultra-sensitive PSA test). YES! YES! YES!
Note: The Quest Labs PSA test back in October came back at 0.2., on the way to my first radiation treatment I stopped at Quest Labs for an ultra-sensitive PSA test. about a week after starting radiation I got the results and it was 0.12. Looking back and knowing that it was less than typical 0.2 threshold and my 5 year doubling time I probably would have delayed radiation, but since I have already had the preliminary CT, tattoos, the planning session, and a weeks of radiotherapy I decided to continue the treatment.
I am happy I did the treatment knowing the undetectable PSA, and that I had ZERO side effects from the radiation to date. Now just hoping that secondary cancer doesn't occur from being nuked.
