Tomorrow is our appointment to receive the pathology on my husband's surgery. Also will be decided whether or not to remove both the catheter and the JP drain in his right side. Both have been draining quite well after our initial issues with clots in the catheter and the JP drain flowing overtime. The doctor will do a test with dye to see if the anastomosis is leaking. I'm not sure what his criteria will be to take out the drain in the side, but it is still running red and lots of drainage. Not sure where all of that goes if they take it out.
Pathology scares me even though the doctor said he was "cautiously optimistic". He also said that he was curious to see the pathology because my husband's PSA did not match his biopsy pathology. We also received the notes from the surgery which stated that my husband had very large seminal vesicles and lymph nodes. Does it mean anything? Have no idea. I sometimes think we are privy to too much information without having the ability to understand it.
But the dice have been thrown and whatever it shows, with God's help, we will deal with. So much want to hear, "clear margins, no seminal vesicle involvement, no lymph node involvement, contained in the prostate." If you are a praying person, please lift one up for us.
