OK -- here's a new thread as we get ready for test results.

I see the vampire on Monday the 1st or Wednesday the 3rd (scheduling issues).
I'll have my results within 2 days. Telephone appointment with Dr. Lam late Friday afternoon next week.

MY PSA is starting back up after being undetectable during my second HT vacation. It's expected. I expect my PSA to be about 1.5 - 2.0 and if so I'll be calling Mayo to try and schedule some scans.

I HATE THESE TIMES as once again time to face the elephant in the room

Coming up on year 5 (8/1/2011) since my DaVinci experience. Blessed to have 4 years undetectable. The annual PSA blood draws never seem to get any easier.

Mel, I'll be out of the country from August 2nd - 11th, but will be thinking of you, i hope you get better results than i know you expect, and that you can continue the HT Holiday

Mine is August 8. Two years since surgery. Those couple of days before and after are ones that I try to keep extra busy on and just not think about it. Best of luck to others.

Just had my 6 month PSA last week, another 0.00, 3 1/2 yrs post op, i get very nervous every time, i feel very lucky every time

Gave blood in July and received another <0.10. Five years, 11 months, and 29 days ago it was 59.7. Thanks goodness for effective treatment.

I did not think I would be nervous but this Aug 8th one and Sept 15th has me on edge a bit. The HT has worn off and the testosterone has been coming back so the PSA tests for the next year or so will be a clearer picture of whether treatment was a success. The cancer was thought to be in some areas of concern for getting out and the HT shrunk it away from those areas before surgery but only time will tell.

Give blood on Tuesday Aug. 2nd. and see the Uro on the 9th. Have had a few little bumps along the way. This a 6 1/2 yr. test.

Had my four week blood work two days ago. My PSA increased slightly from 0.46 to 0.48. I did switch over from Lupron to Eligard earlier in July but I doubt that had any impact. Xtandi has worked well for me since March 2016. I am awaiting prior authorization for Provenge. Good luck to everyone here facing a test soon.

Ron's PSA has been the same the last 4 years. Again, it's .04.

Any other August or September people (especially 2010 diagnosis)? :-)

Thank you, An!! We are grateful about his PSA. Once his hernia surgery has healed, we plan on going on a vacation. Probably our friend David (Purgatory) understands what Ron is going through. Certainly, anyone who has experienced great pain does understand. I wish everyone here much good luck and quick healing.

The results from uro office came back .01. Had blood drawn for physical and asked for the PSA and came back <.01. Will accept the lower number. Not sure which one is more accurate but low none the less. It has been about a year since SRT.

My blood draw is Aug 29. 18 months since surgery, 6 months since last check.

I realize that my tests q three weeks are in a different context than this thread suggests, but down the road I will be number watching monthly or tri monthly BUT.... I am at 0.16 (hx in my sig below)

Got the bad news, as expected: 1.28.

Time to make an appointment with Mayo Clinic to re-do scans (they prefer PSA to be about 2.5 - in other words, in about a month)

- Stress -- sometimes hard to see in oneself; check with family
- Hope -- you have excellent care providers, plus we are in the "golden age" of advanced PD drug developments
- Gratitude -- any "wake-up call?"
- Anxiety -- keep an eye on this; your doc can help
- Fear -- normal, but you are an informed patient which can help conquer
- Sadness & Depression -- different than anxiety, but again your doc can help
- Anger -- maybe a renewed feeling
- Loneliness -- it may be hard for others around you to understand; HW/PC understands

Just posted under my own thread, got my first PSA and testosterone after HDR-BT in Feb 2016, had a PSA high of 6.7, it has only fallen to 6.0 almost six months out. T was 235, low on the scale. Not encouraging, but only time will tell. Doc did a DRE and I about hit the ceiling it was so painful - which is a first. He said my prostate was very inflamed and he was actually glad I had that reaction as he thinks I may have a prostate infection now which could explain the elevated PSA six months out. So a round of antibiotics, back on flomax and Aleve and another PSA in 90 days and we'll see what we see. Fingers crossed.
