Has anyone out there had to deal with urinary Incontinence?

You mean after prostatectomy? Yes, mine lasted about 6 weeks, some never have it, some have it for longer periods, and some never get better. However, in the latter case there are procedures to correct it.

Others here will give you more information.

Had Da Vinci surgery April 18, 2016. At the start had major leakage (>600 grams a day) until June. Then in a matter of two weeks it went down to less than 100 grams, then less than 10 grams to now I wear pads more to feel safe than need. For me, regaining control occurred when I statprted to ride my bike again, between 10 to 40 miles at a time. It could be that setting on a bike seat for hours at a time worked my pelvic floor muscles.

DaVinci April 11. Probably only had one day totally dry since. Been doing lots of supervised pelvic floor exercises & now starting a Core strength program to follow on.

I'm 4 weeks post op today, 2 weeks since cath was removed.
Dry at night for last few days, getting up a 2-3 times.
Still leaking, mostly when standing, but getting better!

I'm 2 yrs 8 months post RP. I was sailing along getting better and better with minimal leakage(shields in the day, pads at night) until radiation. It has gotten progressively worse since (pads in the day, diapers at night and weekends). Stress incontinence is strong in me, join the force Luke, you cannot deny the power of the darkside.

Great timing of a post. I had my catheter removed Friday 7.29. I've used condom catheters for night time and have almost no leakage. Not sure why but laying down seems controllable. I usually wake around 2AM and take a good pee in the foley bag. Then another when I wake up at 6AM. Bladder seems to hold up well to that. I also use kegel exercises at those times seeing it's a good time to practice.

My problem is the persistent dribble I get during the day when I'm active. When I can catch it, and get to a rest room I work on my kegel. But, that only affects a small portion of the whole day. And every time I can catch a stream I kegel it.

I'm wearing Depends with a pad. That way I just change the pad instead of the whole get up. And the pad is easier to carry around and dispose of.

Standing up after sitting is a guaranteed dribbler. At least for now. Anyone with tips on how they conquered the dribbles? I'd sure like to hear them.

I'm 2 yrs post RP. Been totally dry from the day of catheter removal. Did the Kegel exercises really seriously before the surgery, seems to have payed off.

It's because there is nothing pressing down on the bladder.

(I need a holiday from pelvic floor exercises.)

The dribbles are annoying for sure. I did tons of kegels before and after surgery and still had the dribbles for about 12 weeks. Every time I got up to get a printout from the printer I would drip.

It's impossible to know but I believe when I started running again it strengthened my pelvic muscles and the drips quit. So was it the kegels, running, enough time or something else - don't know but to this day (18 months post surgery) if I don't follow my normal workout routine I drip a little. If I do run every other day no problems at all.

Did you wear a light pad/liner running (street or gym)? Not the best for chaffing?

Depends pad with compression shorts, no chaffing but hot and sweaty comes to mind.
