The ProstQA
did look at both surgery and radiation. There were a number of published studies from that group. See, for example:
/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3345236/jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1104401The appendix detail often has more detailed analysis broken down by patient characteristics.
As for your other questions, "What about
patients with large versus small prostates? Or patients with prior TURPS or not? Or patients with lower or higher IPSS scores?"
Large prostates only preclude LDR brachy. Sometimes they shrink them with ADT first. Outcomes with all radiation treatments are generally better with smaller prostates because toxicity is reduced. Outcomes with RP are worse for very large and very small prostates.
Prior TURPS can be a problem for brachytherapy. It requires caution for external beam and for surgery, but it doesn't exclude treatment.
Lower IPSS scores do worse than higher IPSS scores.
