Update after new scans

Last week when we saw the MO before Dan's 4th taxotere treatment, he said because his PSA had doubled between weeks 2 and 3 after each treatment, we should stop the taxotere. Because the Keytruda study wasn't ready yet, and we couldn't go without any treatment, we would get new baseline scans and start on Jevtana this week. We went in today and the scans show some mets have not progressed, but there is a good size new painful one on a rib. The plan is now to radiate this met while doing weekly taxotere since there did seem to be some response to treatment. Doc said full strength chemo would be too much during radiation. Hopefully this will drop his PSA which went from 14.9 to 28 since last week. We weren't sure what to expect of the scans, so overall we were happy with this news. I will echo TA from another post, scans are only as good as the person reading them. I've been over the three sets of MRI and CT reports and you would think they were reporting on three different people. I'll keep you updated as we go along. Thanks for being there. Mary

We have contacted the participating researcher at the cancer center where Dan's being treated. She was supposed to talk with Dan's MO this week.
