PSA rise after 4.5 years post-op undetectable results

I got my 6 month injection (45 MG) of Eligard (Lupron) today. I asked about splitting it up into 2 three month doses, but they said insurance would not allow that. I was a bit surprised that they did the injection into my belly fat next to my navel. I thought it was a shot in the hip/butt area. I'll begin 33 IMRT treatments in about a month. How soon should I begin experiencing some of the more unpleasant side effects?

I had 35 treatments 3 months after surgery over 8 weeks. The last 3 weeks I noticed SE. For me the SE were increasing burning sensation when urinating. This continued for about 3 months after the treatments. YMMV.

I am sorry you have this ahead of you. I am now 16 months out from SRT.
I had absolutely no problems with SRT. I started at .06. I have been at <.006 for all my test so far. I too am T3a and GS 7 (3+4). I went a little over 7 years before I hit .06. Then urologist and RO both said time to go. We got after it and I am grateful. Sator is well known and good.

I began the 33 sessions on 8-10, earlier than I expected. My PSA after 3 treatments and about a month on Eligard is down to .03.
I completed session #7 today and haven't noticed any side effects yet. Although, I found myself in dire straits this morning when I got caught in a 45 minute traffic jam on the bridge across the Mississippi River with the required full bladder on my way to the clinic. A trip that normally takes about 10 minutes. After finally arriving, I had to drain about a pint before I could do the treatment. The bladder was still very full. I'll definitely check the traffic conditions in the future before leaving the house!

At my latest treatment session on Friday, I found out that my total radiation dose is going to be 50 Grays. Does this sound right? Seems low compared to some of the other numbers I've seen posted. Maybe it's because I have no mets and the lymph nodes are clear.

50 does sound low, but much depends too on dose rate. 50/33=1.5 Gy/day, or so. You might ask your RO to explain the dose plan. They usually have very specific reasons for it, and perhaps can explain why your particular plan was selected.

As it turns out, the radiation tech gave me some incorrect dosage info. I saw my RO today for our weekly visit during treatments and he told me I was receiving 66 Gy over the 33 sessions. Today was #11.

I've completed 29 of 33 IMRT treatments along with the 6 month Eligard injection and my PSA is now <0.01. It's good to be undetectable again for sure! 2 months ago my PSA was 0.03.
I have a question I should've asked my radiation oncologist this morning, but I'm sure some of you experts can answer it just as well.
Is this latest PSA of <0.01 due to the Eligard (Lupron) or the 29 radiation treatments I've received so far, or is it a combination of the effects of both of these therapies?
