Good news on the colon cancer front: the CT scans showed no signs of cancer. The oncologist said my liver looked "pristine." However, there is some non-cancer weirdness on my lung image that he wants a pulmonary specialist look at it. He suspects it is a chemo side effect. Sigh - okay, I made the appointment. I told him to quit looking for stuff to worry about
! On to the monitoring phase: blood work every 2 months, annual scan and colonoscopy.
I still have significant neuropathy, in my hands and feet, from the chemo. For example, I am wearing t-shirts since I cannot manipulate buttons with my fingers. I have broken so many dishes from dropping them. This will take months to resolve.
My appetite came roaring back after finishing chemo. I gained 5 pounds in two months; back to my normal weight. I guess I need to dial back the eating now. But, after feeling sick for 6 months, it is so nice to enjoy food.

SC:
I see you had chemo for the colon cancer and also chemo for the PC.
Was the PC chemo "easier."?
I gather the current miserable SE issues is from the colon cancer chemo?

Mel,
This all due to the FOLFOX chemo for colon cancer. I did have 6 rounds of adjuvant Taxotere, at 60 mg/m2, back in 2012. I don't want to minimize the challenge of Taxotere. However, 12 rounds of FOLFOX was way more difficult for me.

Great news. I have followed your journey and you are a great role model for many. It was great meeting you a few years ago at Sonny's.
