good news is my PSA is still .1 after six years post end of treatment!
bad news is i'm starting to think I was overtreated! seriously, no, I don't believe that at all. my uro says it would be very rare for my PSA to rise and if it did it would rise so slowly that further treatment would probably not be needed. I guess I agree with that but to hear him say it really made my day!
I've never once been incontinent and i stiil get useable erections with Cialis.
when i started this journey my PSA was 6.8 and all 12 cores of my biopsy were positive. at least one core was 70% and there were a couple of other high ones. my gleason was 7, 3+4. slides were read by Bostwick.
my doctor advised against surgery because he said i had a better than average chance of needing SRT anyway and he "couldn't in good conscience do that to me" (recommend surgery). since my risk was intermediate to high he said i should consider a combination treatment and that's what i did. he also said he has never had a recurrence with any of his patients receiving this treatment (i don't know if that's still true but it was the last time i asked a couple of years ago).
anyhow i'm stoked and my annual trip to Yellowstone is 18 days away
