Five Years

This week is the fifth anniversary of my prostatectomy and I just had a PSA test. My doctor gave me the news today: "undetectable <0.1." Since I've had nothing but undetectable results for five years, the urologist has graduated me to annual PSA tests.

I don't consider myself cured but today is a significant milestone for me. My uro believes that every year I have undetectable results, the odds decrease that I will face the beast again. I'm very happy with that outcome. What's everybody drinking tonight? Drinks are on me!

Congrats man. 5 years is a great mark and I am sure there will be many many more to come.

Thank you all! This is the outcome we all hope for when we get the dreaded diagnosis: treatment that keeps away the beast for at least 5 years ... and hopefully longer. I wish the best for all of you, including family members, who have to suffer through this struggle.
