I never miss the event. So much laughter and fun. The best part is seeing all the members that are great friends.

The food is a fantastic bonus.

Great food and we will have an excellent view of the International Space Station as it passes almost directly overhead on both Friday and Saturday nights!
That is not as fancy as a total lunar eclipse like we had last year but it is still pretty good!

And there is the fantastic Scotch tasting !

Only one week from right now, Karen and I will be aboard the first leg of our SW flight from FL to Rochester.

Can;t wait to see old friends again and meet new ones.

Since we now have more than 30 people I decided to rent a big party tent just in case it rains. It will arrive on Wednesday night and will be here until Sunday or Monday. Of course I'll set up my usual 10ft x 20ft, and several 10ft x 10ft so we will have plenty of room.
Yikes! I'd better get busy and split some more wood!
We need a ton of it for the campfires.

142 - There are 8 or so bottles here already. They have been waiting patiently for your return - and now they are a year older!

I will be departing Colorado in the morning and start weaving my way there in the morning. All systems in Beast II seem to be green at this time. She's been a real pain this year. I plan to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday so we can help with the preparations. I really have missed some of the veterans and looking forward to welcoming the new members. Sounds like this year is going to be one of the best gatherings, although the past ones are sure hard to beat! Startech +1

Based on the 10 day forecast of rain every day, good move to rent the tent. I gotta quit looking at it, yesterday showed Friday as only clear day, and today all wet.

Not a deterrent since west central FL outlook next 10 days is also rain, except Friday

Lots of activity going on!!! The WorryWarts and Startechs are here;
Mow lawn
convert dining room and living to bedrooms
dig out fire pits
Split wood
label trash cans and containers for bottles and cans (NY)
set up tent
collect and wash outdoor chairs
set up EZ up tents
pick up guests from the airport.
....
So exciting!

It's beginning to look a lot like

GFMPH.

Cajun Jeff and I had the same connecting flight from Baltimore to Rochester , and just leaving to pick up 142 at ROC airport since his chauffeur Sonny could not make it this time

Don't want to jinx it but Worry Wart's sunshine dance seems to be working even though weather reports says do you think you can dance for 5 days.

We'll see what our friends at NASA can do. Maybe they can shift any pesky sprinkles to the early morning.
We have a 20 x 30 ft tent up just in case they are on vacation .

If we don't need it for shelter we will use it for the Pro VR (virtual reality) setup planned for Saturday. I'm told it is spectacular and is so realistic and immersive it induces motion sickness in many people. Ooops!

Hmmm... better try it before we eat!

So far there's just been a lot of eating, talking, and laughing. A great time!
Lunch was chicken salad on croissant, pinto bean soup, corn bread, salad, apple fritters...
Tonight is Clambake, Italian sausage, corn, salt potatoes, mac salad, cole slaw....

We're stuffed!

Last night Goodlife did a great job cooking the chicken and Sat night is always feast night. Jeff the chef has been teasing us with the meat smoker aroma for past two days.

Most have arrived but a couple of Saturday only people arrive today.

We will enjoy the apple festival at lunch time and have the men's round table / camp fire depending on weather in late afternoon today.

Hope to see those who could not make it at next GFMFH in Baton Rouge. Cajun Jeff is hosting and will provides the exact dates but as I recall he mentioned April 220, 2017 time frame

Bob we would love to have you join us. The GFMPH officially ended yesterday. 3 of us could not get good flights home till tomorrow . We spent an additional day in the Rochester area.

We were 35 in attendance. The conversations were fantastic.

Our host WorriedGuy is incredible, as one of the host go these events I can say that he and is wife are masters at making everything work.

The food was outstanding and plentiful.

The best part of our gathering is the official business meeting with only the guys. We had to cut it short due to weather but several made the comment that this one was the best ever.

Many of us in attendance started on HW about the same time. All of you are welcome but we were thinking, if someone in a more recent cohart is interested in starting a gathering of sorts like GFMPH we would be willing to help you, possibly even attend the first one for guidance purposes. They do not need to start big. Our group started small and grew. If interested in doin that just let us know .

Again a very special thank you to Mr and Mrs Worried guy for the 13th GFMPH.

I tried to make the one in FL but ended up spending 2 1/2 months in Sarasota with Dr Dattoli. Hopefully I'll be " free" next spring!
