Could someone translate cat scan result measurements for me?
Prostate measures 4.3x5.7x4.4cm
Hyperdense mass within the anterior left inferior aspect measure 2.3x1.5cm. It also said "no adenopathy heterogeneous prostate with hyper dense anterior left inferior aspect mass"

If anyone knows the name of the genetic test for cancer to see its aggressive nature that would be helpful too. I know they say cancer is slow growing in elderly but how slow are we talking? Want my dad around as long as possible with great QOL

His prostate is somewhat enlarged - 56 cc - which is probably about normal for a guy his age. Clearly, his high PSA is not solely attributable to BPH. They saw a dense mass in the anterior part of his prostate - could be a tumor, could be something else. The anterior was probably not sampled as part of his biopsy, but it really doesn't matter much if he is already classified as "high risk" - he had Gleason 8 and a high PSA. More important is what it doesn't say. It doesn't say there is evidence of extracapsular extension, and it doesn't say there are enlarged lymph nodes. And you already have a clear bone scan. That's all very good.

"High risk" means it is aggressive. You don't need an expensive genetic test to tell you what you know already. Did you fill in the nomogram link I gave to you last time? It'll help answer that question.

The nomogram link was great and I passed it on to my dad. Thank you, perspective is good...he hasn't made any decisions but gathering all the pieces. Thanks again!

get the slides read by bostwick or epstein should be your next immediate step...then you will have a clearer interpretation of your cancer and its agressiveness...thats my advice...
