Good news but incontinence has become a major issue

I have had an AUS AMD800 since 2011 when I was 60. Works well, am getting little leakage but it depends on couple of things.
Still have to urinate and not try to hold it too long, need to completely let the bladder empty - can't hurry things, we are not talking minutes maybe making certain all is done 10-15 seconds, and lastly some car seats hit the activator perfectly and it opens the system up.

I am wearing a shield but some time just a couple of drips, others when I don't pay attention little fuller.

I highly recommend the AUS, I played with pads from 2001 (50 yr old) to 2011 and 2010 had a homan laser to open up a stricture and then the flood came - 8-10 pads a day and just a mess. Before the AUS and with Pads, on business trips I would pack at least 3-8/day of travel and then restrict drinking.

Cleveland Clinic installed my AUS as out patient, my uro could have done it, but said they did more. At the time I had Dr Montague who installed as many as 3-4/day as outpatient.

I am most certainly a Rocky Top kind of guy and Volunteer fan. But, I have not lived there since 1984. Since then: Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, and since 2014, the Greater Seattle area. We vacationed up here for 20 years and love the area. We were on vacation here in 2014 when I contacted a local tech company. They hired me and even paid for my relocation. I left my former company after 30 years - new job and new industry in my mid-50s. You can teach an old dog new tricks!

I didn't think to tell my doctor I was right handed. After my surgery I panicked and reached down to find it. He had installed it on the right side. At my first post op visit I asked the doctor how he knew to put it on the right side. He said because most people are right handed.

Warning to others considering an AUS, tell the doctor which side before the operation.
