Chronic prostatitis for 6 years

My husband has diagnosed with chronic prostatitis for 6 years. He has pain and discomfort in his perineum, testicles, lower abdomen and lower back. Life is so tough to live with these excruciating symptoms. Though we've tried different antibiotics, hot bath, physical therapies, the infection still can't be cured fully. We've visited several doctors, the treatments they advised could only relieve the symptoms. Is anyone here know a treatment for chronic prostatitis. Thanks for any advice.

Sorry to hear about your husband,I hav tried 30 days on antibiotic and was told that prostatitis is very hard to get rid of ,they also told me that 5% get a cure from going on antibiotic.
Sorry I can't be much help but certainly know what he is going through.
I'm 75 you don't say how old he is, not sure age plays a factor in getting this under control.
I wish him luck and hope someone on here can give a better answer

Good afternoon, My father had the same issue for years never developed PCa as I have but the old uro he went to did what my dad called a "finger wave" which is a prostate massage. Thank you for your reply. He's taking an alternative medicine called diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill now. It's said it can cure prostatitis efficiently. Hope it helps.

Welcome to HW, sorry you need to be here.

That's just a tough spot to be in. Prostatitis is known to be difficult to treat. The main treatment is antibiotics as far as I know.

Hopefully some of the others here who've dealt with this will be along shortly with better information.
