I had the catheter removed bright and early this morning. I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for my appointment.
The tube came out and the staples were removed. I spent the rest of the day waiting for word on my pathology report. The Doctor called about an hour ago. I'll be seeing him in about three weeks for detailed information, but the long and short of it is that my G6 is a G7. There's 10%-15% involvement of the prostate.
Then came the news that took the wind out of me. The doctor said, "There were some cancer cells right up to the margin with the bladder."
When I see him I'll have my post-surgery PSA and we will cover all the options in detail.
What is driving me nuts is not having a definitive answer. If there is no cancer in the margins, great, nothing to worry about. If there is cancer in the margins, getting radiation would be the next logical step. But cancer cells "up to" the margin!!! What kind of response does that require???
Okay, my venting is over. Thanks for putting up with my snit. I'm now free to move about my home without a rubber tube sticking out of my dick.
