December Tests

OK, let's use this thread to post our December test results.

I see the vampire in about 10 days. My PSA is taking off and I fully expect the next figure to trigger an immediate return to HT. Such is life. My vacation is 1 year as of today.

I just pulled a 0.09 last week. Doc is thrilled, as am I.

As soon as I got back a trace of testosterone I got 0.03 PSA. 3 months later it was 0.08 and I saw the writing on the wall. Doc told me to get this blood test last week which gave me the 0.09.

The increase in PSA went from 88% up per month to 12%. He swears it is not lab error, so I get another 2 months before the next test. :golf clap:

I have my test scheduled for 12/14, Mel.

Steve had a urine test Thurs because he has to have surgery in Dec 13th.
I am not sure when his next PSA test is.
His last PSA was 4.6 down from 46.
He sees the MO on Dec 19th.

Our plan for your upcoming procedure is to use the stent that is in your ureter and hopefully in your bladder to gain access to your ureter from your bladder. Using this access, I would break up and remove the stones also in the ureter, place an internal ureteral stent and remove the percutaneous nephrostomy. The hope is that you will only have a tube on the inside that would need changing every 6 months. The risk is that with many cancers, the tumor becomes stronger than the tube and another percutaneous nephrostomy is needed down the road. However, most people would gladly have a chance at an internal tube and that this procedure is worth a try.

Hello all -

Hard to believe that Steve finished his SBRT treatments one year ago. PSA continues to decline and is now .78. He's not winning any races to undetectable, and maybe he'll never get there, but the RO considers the continued decline in PSA to be a good sign.

Thankfully, no rectal symptoms, but recently some issues with slow and weak stream. Will discuss that with the URO in January. Weight is still too low and has lost some body mass. Currently on a regimen of two protein shakes per day in addition to 3 meals. No noticeable results yet.

Can't help but think about how important this forum was to us when Steve was first DX'd. You all were our lifeline during a really traumatic time and we will be eternally grateful.

We occasionally are contacted directly by folks who find us through HW, especially those within driving distance to the Cleveland Clinic, and those who are considering SBRT. We always let them know that the PCa forum is the best source of info and support around.

Since I stopped with HT, I've been having my T checked. First two times it actually went down. 13.2, 12.0 But this time it's rebounded to 86, can't wait for April test.

Hopefully there will be life in Little Willy yet.

Saw vampire today.

Interesting new thing that our lab started in November:

I can visit them between 5-6 today. They will print out my results.

That's pretty darn good.

But I will do it after work tomorrow.
That's my last day of work (final exams).

Just got my December 16th blood work and the PSA is once again undetectable even with a gap of six days missing my zytiga due to insurance change merry Christmas everybody happy holidays and keep the faith I will have to update my stats and go out and buy myself a zero candy bar

My result just came back. 10 years after Dx and 8 years past SRT it's <.008.
