alephnull - I am one year out. Will this get any better? I laughed at you last post and then almost peed myself. It describes what I go through each day. On cold morning, I would if he will ever come out.

Gemlin, consider yourself one of the lucky ones if you've had no measurable difference. Most of us don't need to measure to know that we lost some size. As others have said, if I sit on the toilet I have to worry that I'll pee between the toilet seat and down the outside of the bowl. In the past if I sat on a toilet seat I had never even considered that and had more worry that he might hit the water on certain toilets. I've known my guy all my life and being a former horn dog I took a lot of pride in him but after HT and surgery I'm surprised by his decrease. Very significant, and my girlfriend of 16 years is surprised as well. Now I will say he has made a comeback a bit so maybe when he begins to function he can return to almost normal, I am hopeful but will be surprised if he gets back to the same size.

Now remember this thread started with yaamba's concern and her husband had the HDR with HT and EB.
For me, the HT prior to surgery definitely sucked the life out of him. Some days even now he looks like a lifeless pale piece of flesh and others he resembles a healthy looking penis so I think he is still healing and while I have my testosterone back I think my hormones in general are still in a state of imbalance that will just take more time to fully settle down.

I think I knew there might be a little shrinkage from the surgery but I did not expect it to be so much. The Drs definitely downplay some of this stuff but I think part of it is they want you to feel positive going in and many do not have these side effects. So many of us in this thread are just the lucky guys I guess....Jim

ps...I also have the pouch of loose skin or fat that hangs over the penis to make him appear shorter. I thought it was from the HT because that created a mess of my stomach with losing muscle and replacing it with fat but it sounds like from others here the surgery helped create that also. Oh the joy....

no that is not what causes the length reduction. As described in the article in JackH post above:

"One of the most common explanations given by
urologists to patients is that the prostatectomy
results in shortening of the urethra, which results
in loss of penile length. However, the urethra is a
fixed structure at the level of the urogenital diaphragm
and cannot be retracted inwards, and, thus,
the bladder is brought down to the urethra for the
fashioning of the vesicourethral anastomosis."

There are other mechanisms to blame related to nerve damage and reduced blood flow.

For whatever the reason it is still shorter than it was before. I am happy I am writing this and that I am a member of the 0 club. Life goes on.....

So if Rubio and Trump are right about the relationship to size of a man's hands, does ADT and radiation shrink the hands too?

I don't know about ADT and RT, but surgery definitely shrunk my hands. Maybe from lack of use during a previous frequent exercise? You know, use it (hands) or lose it?

My urologist told me that i shouldnt loose any length but there is always that possibility as they have to connect the urethra to the bladder and with the prostate gone it has to come from the urethra and in turn that makes the penis shorter but with master bation and other devices you can streatch it to where it used to be but you cannot make it bigger than what it was. I will soon find out.

Definite shrinkage from Lupron/casodex. But Viagara still works and there's plenty left to get the job done. HTholidays mean a return to orgasms for him-it is like he is in 7th grade all over again.
