What some people might consider the worst news they could have ever received is relative depending upon the hand you've been dealt.
Nest ce pas?
Last week Gary was unable to receive his chemo tx due to his low platelets and anemia. But he did get his lupron and xgeva injection and his weight taken. He was up to 125! His low a few months back was 108
But then the PA thumped his abdomen and said he thought the ascites fluid was back and to schedule a paracentesis.
So today we went into radiology and the tech on the ultrasound found no fluid. Cool! (Lesson:don't let your PA pick your watermelon
)
Then we were off to the lab for BW. His chemo was rescheduled for this Thursday. But this afternoon we get a call from PA saying platelets are getting close to being high enough for chemo, but wait another week, AND his PSA has dropped again to just over 500 with no tx in over a month.
Best of all Gary is feeling good enough to travel to Bay area to spend Christmas with his family. Something he couldn't do last year.
I am so very thankful to have Gary with me and feeling good this Christmas. He continues to amaze and inspire.
I would also like to convey my deepest appreciation and gratitude for another year of support and understanding from all my HW family.
You have inspired hope during the bad times and celebrated with me during the good times.
Wishing you all good health, happiness and many blessings this Christmas and throughout the year.
