Yes the question gets asked repeatedly.

Ask 20 patients who had treatment from 20 different doctors and you will get 20 different answers. The bias has been demonstrably inseparable. find a highly experienced practitioner.

What Jack said. There are lots of really good surgeons out there. If you're at a center of excellence and have someone with a few thousand procedures under his or her belt...you're on the right track.

John Davis, MD at MD Anderson did my RALP. He is an early adopter of da Vinci and two years ago he was at about 2,000 surgeries. A urologist in Florida recommended him to me.

He did my RALP at 7am and had another one scheduled after lunch. I was continent when the cat came out smile

gleason 6 in 2007. Had a friend who was a well known orthopedic surgeon and himself battling prostate cancer. He recommended Dr. Randy Fagin because he had done so many robotic surgeries with good success. Well pleased with his treatment and care. Incontinence was short lived and sexual function has actually gotten better as time has gone on. Still use viagra which has gotten very expensive. Randy Fagin would be my recommendation.

Not just a question of how many procedures the Dr. has done but what has the results been for the patient?

You have good names for Texas. Dr. Slavin did mine in October 2007. I could not have been more pleased. My local urologist waited too long to do biopsy. i went to Slawin who was head of Baylor urology and listed as 1 of top 100 cancer doctors in USA. Highly respected and well published - competent researcher. Ahead of the game of latest protocols. Willing to talk. Would do it again with him. I am currently <.006 after salvage radiation two years ago. I am approaching ten years out from surgery. I am living as if I were done with PC.
