Heckuva way to start a 2017 thread, but somebody has to do it!!!

Please post your upcoming tests and then those results here.

(For me, my next test will be 2/3 -- so free month for me!!)

Gary has been getting blood drawn weekly due to his low platelet count, and the doc throws in a PSA check randomly, so maybe we will be the first PSA poster of the new year on Wed.
We are rooting for him to go below 500 this time.

Next and last 3mo lupron shot Jan 19th. 3mo postosties meeting with RO Feb. 22nd.

I'll be having my first post-toastie PSA this month, too. Blood draw around the 5th or 6th (walk-in phlebotomist), with the first post-treatment visits with uro on the 17th and RO on the 19th. I'm most definitely getting copies of my test results before meeting with either of them. I don't like surprises, and I prefer to interpret first results myself. I'll be prepared for constructive conversations that way.

I'm going in the next week or two (no appointment necessary) for my 2 year post RALP PSA. After all I've been through the last 2+ years, since my surgery (lots of health issues for me and family), I'm numb, and i think whatever happens, I'll handle it. But hopefully, I'll get another "<".

And I'm NOT GOING TO QUEST

I will be having my tests done shortly here. I found that Dec was the worst time to get tests done since a lot of other people need to have tests done for their work at that time. The nurse told me that doing it in Jan is best because there is very little waiting then.

Today is the 3 year anniversary of my RALP. PSA is undetectable in this week's test.

Have any of you folks ever heard that it is best to get blood drawn about same time each day? And preferably before 10:00 am?

Back to hotel after day at NIH. Great and brisk walk in theteilight still a few holiday lights out.
PSA was 0.38 today.

Standard line I think:"next one will tell not worried yet "

I will work on that.

3.42 for me on Jan. 3rd at Tulane in New Orleans during visit with oncologist. Doesn't mean much since previous results were from Quest. Don't know why he did it.

<0.05 for me. Didn't see a place to post last month.
Prostate cancer chronology:
• Diagnosis 1/4/08
• Surgery 1/22/08 G4+5
• Psa tests 2/08, 3/08, 6/08, 9/08, 12/08, 4/09, 7/09, 8/09, 10/09, 1/10, 4/10 all <0.05
• Psa 6/22/10 0.06
• Psa 7/10 0.05
• Psa 9/10 0.05
• Psa 11/10 0.06
• Psa 1/4/11 0.08
• Radiation started 1/19/11 and completed 3/15/11
Psa 3/29/11 0.05
Psa since then (last 12/21/16) all <0.05

@RF...How far you have come!! Rising isn't a great thing, but it's really still so low! I hope it holds for a very long time.
Gary had blood draw today. All they checked were his platelets, but he is finally showing a number high enough to get mitaxantrone tx tomorrow. Will post post-tx his numbers, if the doc ever orders one mad

First PSA result after surgery in Oct 2016 was <0.01. Nice to have a good start.

A quick follow up about my first "Post Toastie" PSA and uro/RO conferences. My pre-treatment PSA was 5.69. At 6 weeks post treatment (early, I know), it had already gone down to 4.75. Both doctors have the same opinion, neatly summarized by my RO. . . "We're in a good place now." We did not expect major decrease so soon, but we wanted a documented starting point about the time the swelling/inflammation from SBRT would have gone down. Happy to see a decrease of almost 17% that quickly.

We all agreed that the goal for the next couple of years will be to see a downward trend, with understandable bumps. We only hope that it doesn't turn around and start upward again. So far, nothing gives us any reason to expect that, but we all know that PCa is a carnival ride into uncharted territory, so nothing should surprise us.

Next PSA in 3 months, so a few months of calm to come.
